I'm going to be switching from a 120/90/18 Sedona rear tire to a 120/100/18 Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid Hard. There seems to be a big diff in sizing between the 2 brands, the Pirelli looks substantially wider and taller than the Sedona.....how much will that affect my gearing? I'm also going from stock 15/45 gearing to 14/45......I hope the bigger tire doesn't eat up all my gearing change and put me back at stock
, that would kinda defeat the whole purpose of the sprocket change.....Any feedback from you guys who have played with tire sizes would be great Thanks in advance for any info

tires wear down fast, especially knobs...so you have a "gearing change" by the time you wear out the life of the tread...since its gradual you dont notice it immediately
by the time I wear out my knobs I lose some topspeed...thats all I notice as well as the obvious loss of traction... I would just compare how the bike feels before the gearing swap...then change front sprockets lastly not all tires are labeled or sized equally meaning a 110 maxxis might be the same size as a 130 t63 for example... cheers |

John, I have a BRAND NEW in the package Honda Red Acerbis Sumo Fender. Was about $45, yours for $25 shipped (should be cheap since you are 50 miles away).

I know this is not the spot for this, and that this little spun crack monkey is the polar opposite of our "dirt couches", but Wednesday I picked up this. Couldn't resist, I love my '99 RM250; it is very trick and in great shape, but the '06 was pretty much the last major revision the bike saw. God save the smokers! This thing had a few hours on it and was basically new. Hell yeah!

It holds together great on the fish tanks I've built. My largest was 150 gallons. That said I still use JB weld. I can remove silicone on parts and clean up is easy. JB weld won't just come off.

FWIW, my JB welded one fell off eventually. I used silicone this time. Time will tell. One great advantage to silicone is that it is far more tolerant of vibration and flexing. JB weld will and does crack. Essentially, it is just epoxy. That said, I don't leave home without it. There's nothing better in the field for fixing a myriad of problems.
