Did you take this photo? Great pic on a number of levels.
Interesting rifles also. |

I like that chica con bandelera in red in the middle of the photo. She could whip my ass all she wanted to.

The dresses are color coded, by the way.
A red one means they have choked a man to death using their thighs. |

These are photos of the murals we had done at the hotel for the centennial of the revolution. By local Muralist Rosa Verdugo. The first is Las Adelitas, inspired by images from several other paintings. The second is a copy of a famous mural by David Alfaro Siqueiros that is in Mexico City. I have never seen the original. He was a Stalinist and attempted to kill Leon Trotsky. (as an avowed Trotskyite, this makes me a bit uncomfortable but it is a great mural) They are a bit larger than 6 ft square and painted on folding metal doors.

I never get tired of looking at the magnificent exhibits of Mexican muralists in D.F. I believe the above Siquieros piece is in Bellas Artes along with scores of Rivera and Orozco. Definitely worth fighting a little traffic to see.

This is unfortunate. Perhaps we're not trying hard enough? Poll result isn't really a surprise though...
Article: Poll: Most Americans View Mexico Negatively. http://nationaljournal.com/nationals...ively-20121119 Then again, after the fantastic run MikeMike and I did today, the fewer people clogging the roads in motorhomes the better. Bikes always welcome.

And for Trice, Siquieros was a contemporary of Rivera, who was married to Salma Hyek who was having an affair with Trotsky when Siquieros tried to assassinate Leon. The universe works in mysterious ways

for those who buy quality food in the US from the supermarket and then try and shop in Mexico you know I mean. in the US you'd have 2-3 quality (non HFC & non-gmo) choices at a regular supermarket and 10+ in a health food store...in Mexico you're lucky to get 1.

not surprising at all. i talk up my experience about mexico all the time and most look at my like i'm crazy to go there. the sad part is most in the US have shallow brains who watch Fox news and believe everything they are told. at this point I tell my Mexico stories to people just to get a reaction as I don't give a damn what the TV say nor what others think. TV is for complete losers anyway, but these people don't know it. the Euros and Candadians get it and they are the ones you'll most meet in Mexico.
