Slap fest
Ive been trying to make this for several years, and if work allows I'm gonna try! This is an awesome ride you put on, and like they say, Texans go to Arkansas to crash their bikes! Gear up!

SLAP 2013 T-Shirt details
By popular demand of my ever-opinionated TTPC focus group, the SLAP 2013 tee is one of the synthetic, moisture-wicking type. Here is the logo: ![]() ![]() Go HERE if you want to see the garment details from the manufacturer. We will be using "graphite" color. Click HERE to register and buy a shirt.

T-shirt looks great, but after reading last year's ride reports I thought there would be helicopters and search & rescue trucks in the design.

Great choice of location, the GS Giants had a great time there this past summer.
Hope there's more water in the river for y'all... and really wish I could make it out there. Most likely a ride out to Rick's Rendezvous is in order for me. Thanks to DrLewall and Troy for some great routing. Frog Bayou is not for wimps! ![]() .

never been
I have a 2011 KLR 650. is this too big a bike for this event. Plan on trailering up from central AR. so I will have fresh off road knobs on the bike. I don't have all kinds of sh^t hooked to my bike. ie..crash bars etc.. I have racks and hard bags but plan to remove these beforehand. The bike is stock so no added weight. I have looked at some video of prior year SLAP on youtube but this was just a few guys doing some pretty technical stuff but I am interested in that too.

Did it last year on the klr, no problem if you pick the right guided tour. Lots of nice gravel roads and tracks. Came in from Illinois with full luggage, unload and ride.
Now a question on registration. When does it close? We would be coming down last minute depending on weather. Really want to make it again.

We'll probably close the online registration completely on May 15th. Anyone that decides to just show up and pay can do so via cash or check. But... please realize that it isn't advised to do this. We'll be figuring all the numbers on food based on the number of pre-registered inmates.

In and Paid. Excellent choice on the wicking shirt, and nice design as always.

great location!!!!
Don't be on the fence. I also was there last july when it was 105 in the shade. ![]() I can't make SLAP, as a return trip, because I will be at Rick's Rendevous, but this is an exceptional area to ride, road or dirt. Stay out of Frog Bayou, Shit don't always come back the way it went in GSGiant 199

AMMCA, I took the liberty to put you on the IN list with the cool kids.
Rustynut2 is correct. The KLR should do fine and you can pick what you want to ride. Plenty of cool, not too technical unpaved roads to choose from and some super cool, technical stuff as well. Just depends on your comfort level - I've seen giant GS's go where I fear to tread. The paved roads are also pretty awesome. Quote:
