1972 Yamaha dt250 I need some help!

So I've recently become the wonderful owner of a Yamaha dt 250 frankenstein bike that someone has decided to cut up.
It runs and rides but there are a few problems
1. No clutch... And by no clutch I mean there isn't a clutch, clutch lever or cable. I was told "I just push it with my feet and pop it into first then you don't even need one."

2. No battery, no battery box, no wiring for anything. Tail light, headlamp nothing. And I want to be able to ride it on the street so I need some advice on wiring up a tail light and head light at least.
3. The suspension is shot. Need new shocks for the rear, seals for the front.
I've checked Ebay for some parts, clutch, fork seals, etc.
Dirt bikes aren't in my comfort zone yet I consider myself to be very handy as I've been a painter, bodyman, fabricator for many years electrical is NOT my thing. I've got her taken apart to the engine sitting in the frame.
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated as far as electrical and where I can get rear shocks, and if I put new oil and seals in the front forks it will make it more "stiff" because they leak like crazy and are very spongy. The lighting thing alone is going to be the biggest hassle. I'd find something a little more complete unless money is no object

I've got no money into it, just my time, which is money. Like I said earlier all I really want is a tail light and headlight.
I've seen some wiring harnesses online but I don't want to buy an entire wiring harness is I don't need most of it.

Find a standard wiring diagram. It has a lighting coil, which will give you enough power to run a headlight/taillight. Brake light may be an issue. All you need to find tap into the lighting coil, which is with the magneto side, and ground them. Lights will only run with the bike running, but will give you something.
