Tonight on Netflix I came across "The Real Battle of Britain" with the McGregor brothers. Fantastic documentary about the air battle that took place.

That would be the Nation Museum of the USAF at Wright-Patterson in Dayton, OH. Cold War Hangar.

Awesome photo. That thing would break the sound barrier...
always remember the 'sonic booms' as a kid. I reckon, now there would be panic in urban areas.

I was wondering if that was Dayton; I've seen that one in person, then, wasn't positive if it was Dayton or not. The B29 and 36 on display are also very nice there. They've done a neat job of arranging things by era.

For any of you that haven't been to the museum in Dayton....plan to be there the whole day and you still won't see it all with any detail. There is that much to see.

and don't even try to squeeze in the on-base hangar visit if you plan on only a day....

I had a few hours to run over there after an on-base meeting, it was like being teased.
Saw some awfully low flying jets over a grassy part of the airfield, took a minute to realize they were big, kero-burning honest-to-god turbine-powered models.

I was at Wright-Pat for the Doolittle Reunion this year. I was stationed at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus back in the day.

There is one of these standing gate guard over at the old Kelly AFB main gate road. Doesn't look at shiny and clean as this one, though.

My contribution to the thread. Caught this guy flying over a model airplane event I was at this weekend.
