Although there's alot there to work with...
I assume you've got your work "cut out" for you.

I gotta get up to the vintage nights there at paco's tacos this year just to check the scene.

One of the first bikes I ever rode...fire trails in the San Gabriel mountains and really fun.

Beware of the kickstarter on that thing; the occasional backfires can just about throw you over the bars!

History
Towards the end of the 60’s, the British motorcycle industry was in decline under the assault on the market of Japanese bikes in particular by the Honda 450cc DOHC.
In an attempt to stem this tide BSA & Triumph management planned the development and sale of a motorcycle which could compete in the marketplace against the Japanese bikes. Thus the BSA Fury & Triumph Bandit were born. Darn! that would have caused a stir
Essentially the same bike which were badged under their respective brands..
At the start of 1971, the BSA factory in Birmingham found itself in difficulty with both labour disputes and financial problems and terminated the development of the prototypes and the XD5 was left in a corner of the factory.
The plan to commercialise the model was abandoned the bike never entered production..... (triple sobbing)
At the start of 1974 Allan Clews, owner of CCM (French off-road motorcycle builder) and BSA customer, acquired the prototype which was just a few months later purchased by a French dealer who conserved the bike for the next 37 years.
The motorcycle was used in France with trade plates covering approximately 6,000 miles without incident) and in 2007, the owner had it partially restored.
Now refreshed the bike is in perfect working order....OK, let's ride...

Technical Characteristics BSA E35 Fury
349cc DOHC twin
bore x stroke 63 x 56 mm
wet multiplate clutch / five speed gearbox
tubular steel, double cradle frame
34 hp @ 9,000 rpm
fuel capacity 11,.4 L
dry weight 156 kg

WOW Learn something new every day.... ! Well, maybe not so much lately but not necessarily for lack of trying. Today I've learned something I never knew!

BUT the question remains: Were these in production, then, or no? Google search comin up!

THANKS, 22many!

Thanks for that link...

The frames are well thought of and I know of one B50 fan who is building a fury out of parts. Some of which are having to be manufactured. What a tough project!

Here is a link to his thread on that, on the B50.org web site.

http://b50.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4389&hilit=350+fury

Give it a few moments to bring it up, as for me anyway the b50 website has been a bit slow lately.

The link above was checked as I made the post. But moments later I was unable to access the site at all.
It's a good link, but they might be currently experiancing server trouble.
Interested ADV's should give it time and be persistant at checking the 3 pages of discussion about this build.
