Anyone been to Nashville?
I'm starting to plan the "Rick's Official Yearly 2013 Motorcycle Trip (ROY2MT)" and could use some advice. It won't be a long trip, as we've got other travel that's going to steal my vacation time. :-(
http://goo.gl/maps/lIuaV The idea is Home -> Knoxville (by way of Foamhenge) -> Nashville (by way of The Dragon) -> Stay the night -> Beckley WV -> Home. All back roads. No highways and no dirt. Just scenic riding. Probably July 17-21. So ... two questions ... (1) any "must do" items while in Nashville? And (2) anything weirdness/goodness along my path that I should set sail for?

Great videos. Seems like a good amount of riding over there. I would think with all the side trails I saw in the video it'd take over an hour to ride everything.

FYI, my boy and I joined the Charles City Dirt Riders Club. They are still accepting 2013 applications. We joined as I want Gabriel practicing in a safer, more controlled environment, without trees, quads, two-way traffic and other riders under the influence. I'll take the DRZ the first couple of times out but it looks like I may need to save up for a dedicated hard core dirt bike. Having Gabriel show a desire to ride is a dream come true for me!
I hope this leads to a lot of weekends riding together for many years! (especially the tough and akward years between 13-25!)See link for details: http://www.ccdirtriders.org/

Now you tell me.. ![]() I missed the line to go around, and those big pigs don't roll back worth a crap. So it was the lesser of two evils believe it or not. Picking lines around those holes was like trying to navigate a maze, one wrong turn now and your screwed 50 yards down the trail. Riding stuff like that on the GS is fun in a technical / challenging kind of way, which I really enjoy. It certainly isn't the right bike for single track if your looking for a fast / easy Sunday ride. There is also something pleasing about riding a bike non-stop to Key West, FL and then taking the same bike through a couple miles of single track and being able to enjoy both.

Really!? cuz this is what I remember:We stopped under the bridge just before that section and said : "it's muddy over in that area, lets go this other way".. At which point Chuck/Andrew/Eddy eyes light up and immediately go hauling ass directly for it.

It was many pages ago and we were posting a lot at the time. I suggest you ask for an allowance in the price for a new skid plate if you negotiate with him
