You can go here for info on a bunch of skid plates.

Cut and paste on skid plates:

WEIGHT (measured with bolts and all hardware): lbs / kg
FORCE: 6 / 2,7
TOURATECH: 7,8 / 3,57
HEPCO&BECKER: 14 / 6,3
ACD: 11 / 5
ALT RIDER: 9,2 / 4,17
RIDEONADV: 13 / 5,9
SW MOTECH:
RUMBUX: 12,6 / 5,7
As to the weight of the Rumbux, the weight of the unit, complete upper and lower with all hardware, (most of the big bolts replace shorter OEM ones), is 23 lbs. The lower bash frame w/skid plate and all hardware is 13 lbs and the upper bash frame is 10 lbs.

Well got her all put together this afternoon. Pretty easily done.

I did find that I did a number on the oem 'crash guard'. Cracked it completely across both ends:

Luckily it's the less important right side.

Now I've got tomorrow off work, but I'm hesitant to test it, as its the biggest hunting week of the year here, and all my favorite roads are in hunting areas.

OTOH, the Super Ténéré is one of the coolest, least heat-intrusive bikes I've ever owned, and that surprised me given it's literally fully-faired and has two pistons the size of coffee cans banging up around in there. Even when we had temps well into the 100's this past summer I found it comfortable, fan on or not. And that's with full ATGATT or just blue jeans... Doesn't matter.

Besides, even if someone finds what little heat blows on their leg when the fan is on uncomfortable, just how long is it on? 30 seconds? How long is the stoplight?

Crikey! It's a motorcycle... Not a limo.

Ditto for Florida. You wanna cook? Sit at a red light on 95 degree heat and have the fan on a VFR start funneling heat your way - that was warm. The Tenere? No worries whatsoever.

Your going to need some serious risers if you insist on riding like that.!!

Naw, the whole reason was to be able to finish the Tic Tac Toe game on the garage ceiling.

I got my Rumbux in the mail, and installed. I'm a happy camper. Well compared to Mikef500, I'm probably a sourpuss. But hey, one beer later, some help from my wife, threw in an oil change, and it's done!
