You could always make the seat "taller" and get pegs that hang down a bit (they are 40.00 on ebay). Most of the time on the HW I have my feet on the passenger pegs so my legs are all out of whack...lol.

I'm 5'6", loved how the bike seemed to disappear beneath me; had a riding buddy who rides one as well, happens to be 6'2", says the same thing... go figure.


On the subject of the saddle, I put many 400+ mile days on mine, never felt the saddle was inadequate at all...

I miss my 9er.

I`m 6`2"and the bike seems to fit me well. I have ridden it almost 4000 miles since buying it two months ago, and could not be happier with it.

Just a thing I'd like to add.. I've heard from more then one person that
they found the Bandit 1250 to be roomier then the V-strom.

Sounded strange to me, but I think I've read about that here on the
forum too.

Naked 1250 looks virtually the same as 919.

I have had both a Bandit 1200 and a 919. The Bandit was a fun bike that felt like a bandit, a little rough around the edges, and it had a scary headshake if you let off the bars. Dependable as dirt and a little roomier. Cheap runner. The 919 was smooth and if you let go of the bars, you could steer with your body. Honda quality and middle of the road performance, solid dependable and fun.
I would take a 919 over most any naked, if it fits. I am 6'1" 200 lbs. 33" inseam, 36" arms. I did use 2" Rox Risers on the 919.
I like my NC700X though for alot of the same reasons as the 919.

I had a vstrom 650, and now the 919, and I'm 6'3. I find the 919 to have plenty of space, and in the city I find it to be much easier to manouver that the Vstrom was. It's weight is more compact, and I seem to have better leverage on it. I'm a bit surprised how comfortable I am on it, actually.

Well, here is my tinkerings with my 919. Its a 2004, added 2007? brakes (liked the color of the calipers), CBR 900 exhaust, renthal bars, SS brake lines, metallic orange paint, heated seat and grips, lots of stainless steel bolts, LED turn signals, all kinds of powder coating. Next up is CBR rims, painting the lower fork clamp thingy, rebuilding the forks, and repainting the exposed parts of the frame. I have had the pegs, slip on bracket, and head light ring powder coated, and added stomp grip pads... just been to lazy to take pics.

So I think my two dream bikes right now are the 919 and the Triumph Speed Triple, obviously the Trip has a bit more hooligan in it, but other than that, has anyone ridden both? How would you compare them?

It is the safest I've ever felt on a bike. I was "one" with the bike. I also never had any problems with the OE seat.

That is a pretty red. I was less than impressed with the green at first, but grew to like it. I too always felt in control with my 919.

Never rode the Speed, but did ride the Street Triple R while I still had my 919; even though the riding positions are very similar, the bikes are totally different. The ST was more hooligan with a wider power band in each gear, but the 919 seemed like a much more finished bike. If I had the choice between both bikes at the same price, I would go with the 9, though nothing sounds as sexy as that Triumph triple.

^ that's about how I feel.

I like the sound of the trip, but the 9'er just feels more like a refined machine to me. The striple feels more like a sportsbike without the bodywork.
