cannisterectomy

Looking at attaching an MSR bottle where the cannister now lives. I am guessing it has been done before. If so, a link would be appreciated.

Cool. What boat were you on? I'll be that way in January or February and need to find a way to Columbia. PM me. Thanks.

It's Caf's my wifes bike I'm the clown in the ditch/field after going straight on at a T junction on my X Challenge!

The exhaust is a Scorpion (british company) it's OK for the money we paid (about £250 for a titanium) but the on I have on my XCH is a replacement because the sleeve slip by the end cap on the original.

Cheers
Pete

I was recently in San Diego for a week and went by the local Guzzi dealer, GP Cycles. It's a very nice shop.

They're also a Husqvarna dealer and I had the opportunity to see the new Husky Terra 650 that reminds us of the BMW X series.

Priced at $6999, I think this will be a good seller for Husqvarna and, yes, the bike has similarities to our X bikes.

The Terra is not as trimmed-out as the XCo. Doesn't have ABS and the body parts are simple. It does boast more HP, though- almost 60 !

I think we will see switchable ABS on it soon.

GP did not have the "Strada" version of the bike that offers a 19-inch front wheel that I prefer and ABS.

More specifically here is the cannisterectomy.

I tried reusing the stainless straps from the cannister mount with some rubber strips to hold an MSR fuel bottle directly, but they quickly broke from offroad pounding as they are just way too thin. I have been 2 years now on my Tool Tube setup with some simple brackets I made and it has held up fine, better than expected actually. Well worth the money. Also carry a 5' clear plastic siphon tube, you can take off a side panel and store it under the faux gas tank cover above the airbox (along with a 19" spare tube for your tire inside of a Tyvek bag (free from the US Postal Service)).

Wow McGiggle! That is quite an adventure, I have always marveled at the Darien gap and you are Livin' the Dream baby!

And Donnh just what kind of adventure are you cooking up? And is Deb going (but not on an XCo then on what?)... We gotta know what bike she would rather be on than an XCo???

Hey Snooker - yes, South America this time (Yikes) . I'm putting together a blog www.ADVdonnh.com click on the MotoRaidII tab to read about the trip. Subscribe if you want updates, I will probably get an ADVrider RR going as well. We leave in a few weeks

Deby is joining us on her 2011 G650GS. I've been pretty busy getting it all farkled up, a few pictures HERE.

I was at the local BMW dealer yesterday and Deby's Xcountry sold to a woman who also rides an SV650, Maybe she'll show up here in the near future. I sold the Aux tank and soft panniers to a local inmate who bought drone's bike.
