i didnt get much further at the weekend with my electrical setup as i ran out of time and connectors

however i've decided that the fuzeblock will fit ok behind the mask, and in preparation for this i've tidied up the wiring and cable routing behind the mask and now routed all the cables up into the gap created by raising the comp higher. The cables are less stressed and more out of the way so more space to play with. hope to progress more at the weekend. i did email exchange with paul at hdb, he can make more of the headlight relocator brackets that Lukas has but he hasnt had much demand for them so they're not on his site at the moment.

Yes, it is the stock cover but on top of their foam and shape. There was some material added underneath I believe to make it work.
Top quality job and it transformed the ride for me over 500 miles of desert

I sent in the seat and they did the whole thing

The stickers and colouring of the 2012 models are still wayyyyyy better than the older ones. (IMHO)

Yep, sorry you didn't get the 2012 in the US.

Anyway a serious question. I was told to put anti-seize on the subframe bolts under the seat that connect into the fuel tank. (or maybe it was the screws that hold the radiator shrouds on?)

Anyway last time I looked about 3 were loose. I tightened them up of course. What's the thinking here, it is better to occasionally lose a bolt than have them seize in the tank and then spin out the plastic uselessly.

(......I think I know the answer to this question D'oh, just wondering what the forum thinks)

Your reasoning is correct. I haven't touched mine, nor have had the tank off, but will soon. Will put anti-seize on all those bolts.

2010 FX450.
Stock gas tank - full of fuel.
Sicass dualsport lighting kit w/ horn.
Tail bag on bike w/ tools.
Seat Concepts seat.
Ohlins steering damper.
Garmin 60CS GPS on Ram mount.

Weights:
Front - 130 lbs. (59 kg.)
Rear - 154 lbs. (70 kg.)

TOTAL -- 284 lbs. (129 kg.)

srm2 driving light

Wired up my srm2 driving light, i've mounted on a bracket connected to the side of the hdb top clamp, only problem is i cant bend it far enough forward to get it to a point where it wouldnt blind oncoming vehicles,, i've asked paul at hdb to make me up a headlight relocation kit so i can move the mask forward and drop the computer to the lower mounting point on the top clamp and then rotate the light farther down, short term i'll have to raise the light higher with a taller bracket or a spacer, alternatively i might have to get fork clamp to mount it on just below the top triple clamp

Sounds about right. One of the moto mags did a comparo on KTM vs FE Bergs and their measured true weight for stock Berg FE offroad bike, full oil & fuel was 271lbs. The 390 thru the 570 only vary by a pound or two. The 50-state 570S is no doubt heavier with the extra smog stuff. Add a full 70degree tank and it will be close to 300lbs.

We made a design change on the tank for quality control. This change will require us to include two small spacers for the rear fender mounting screws on the back end of the tank. Once we have the spacers made we will be able to start shipping tanks!
