On my next trip down there, might have to crawl around on it and see if I can tell more about it or see a manufacture plate that might give a clue...

They are rivited steel plates as old boilers or tanks but are filled with concrete. You can see the concrete foundation with a short section of the support still embeded.

That makes sense. Looking at the picture again, I can see two of the larger diameter cylinders with a smaller diameter one connecting the two. I guess the way they have fallen over confused me... Oh, well mystery solved. Still can't wait to ride out that way again!

She ran out of gas, so i had to lay her down...


The bikes that are NOT out of gas...


So lets get the KTM tank lower to siphon out of the S10 while Knightwork goes to chase down DQ and Trailblazer...


Lesson one: Garden hose does not fit down in a S10 tank very well.
Lesson two: A 2 liter coke bottle can be used as a temporary gas can.
Lesson three: When everyone else TOPS OFF, DO IT TOO!!! (Just kidding, Supah!)

DQ and Knightwork returned with a 2 liter bottle of gas and got us all to the station.

When we got to the station this woman had just topped off her tank and was having trouble kickstarting her shovelhead...


With everyone gassed up, it was time for some gas station chicken... (I bet Supah's tasted like gas!)

Yeah, that was pretty dumb. Thanks to everyone for being patient and thanks DQ for bringing me some go juice!

Decided Christmas Eve was a good day for a ride... New knobbies installed and all... Met DQ at the Waffle House around 7 and by 7:30, we were gassing up and hitting the road...

Still a little damp as we gassed up in Brandon:








We finally make it to the mythical road that DQ had heard about...

Then DQ gets this gleam in his eye and decides since I got the new Tiger a little dirty, it's time to go all out!






Stopped by Boykin Church for a break... The ladies get the plush treatment!!!

Then DQ decided we needed to try some single track... At least with an orange bike and an orange jersey, it's easy to play "Where's DQ!?"

We finally give up after every road dead ends, so we make our way out to 35 and head towards Raleigh seeking lunch... Passed a new building with a sign that read "Back Side Ribs" or something like that... Hmmm...

New tires were great. Lots of slick places, mud, water crossing, etc and they did great!

Just a shout out to DQ. Are you the one we met in Utah at the filling station in Esclante with your friend? Just wondering how the rest of your trip went. I,m Greg ffrom Flatland Racing in Emporia Ks. I was with Mr. Wizard and we rode out from Salida Co. Really enjoyed the trip and Utah. Enjoyed the pictures from MS. My daughter used to live in Clevland as hubby was a football coach at Delta State. Take care, Greg
