I think I've gained a couple of pounds from looking at your delicious food pics.. (makes me think of food ---> raid the fridge).. Thanks for the awesome report and fantastic pics!! It looks like you had an excellent European tour, and thank you for taking us along.

thanks for sharing your ride with us, Nancy. I enjoyed it very much, maybe more than you did!

Excellent courageous job, both on the road and with the keyboard.
Shame on you for not going to that festival tho. . . . .

It all happened so fast. Then equally fast, a gorgeous, strong man ran to my rescue and picked up the bike while a duo of female cops came to check on me.

Meet Mary. She's the one on my right.

She's a rider herself and insisted that I ride the bike just to the next corner for a cafe to relax and calm my nerves. These ladies patiently sat with me and helped me calm down, even managed to get me to laugh. There wasn't much laughter left in me at this point.
These are the rails for "Translohr" streetcars , that you will find (fortunately) only in Venezia-Mestre, Padova and Clermont-Ferrand in France - these are much more slippery and dangerous respect traditonal ones due for the profile, at a point that in Italy pushbikes are forbidden on the streets where these Streetcars run... municipality were tired to be held responsible for damages (even serious injuries)

Compliments for the excellent RR and pics !

Thanks for the info.

It was such a shock. I've ridden the bike on tracks before slick with rain/moisture and while I've felt little slips here and there never just went down so fast and so unceremoniously!

From the No Good Deed Goes Unpunished Department:

"....I came along a small boy of 5 playing a game of badminton with a girl and they stopped and watched me walk towards them. As I came near, I asked if he wanted me to play and smiled. He glared at me and said "No! I want you to get out of our way!"

If you don't already have an ADV sticker you've cetainly earned one. Thanks for sharing the ride.
