In an effort to ease the exchange of information around bike shipping we are creating an index thread that will help connect inmates and prospective shippers. Here's how it works: 1 - Shippers - if you are in the business of shipping or any of it's related endeavors you will start a thread in the VENDORS forum here detailing the services you are offering. Once you've established a thread in Vendors you can link it to this thread. 2 - Inmates (not in the business of shipping) - if you are a member of the forum and have a need to sell a space or other service you purchased previously you will start a thread in the appropriate Flea Market sub forum here. Once you've established a thread in the Flea Market you can link it to this thread. Please do not post in this thread unless you are adding a link in one of the above 2 scenarios. Remember, this thread is intended to get information out to people. Think about that when you are about to post here. If you want to have a conversation with the shipper or member selling shipping space do so within the Vendor or Flea Market threads. PLEASE DELETE YOUR OLD LINKS If your item sells or expires or whatever, delete it. Keep the place tidy, it makes it easier to find information. This is a community effort, spam, excessive commentary, and old undeleted posts will clutter the thread up quickly which is defeating the purpose here. All posts not meeting the criteria above will be deleted. We reserve the right to abandon this practice if members continually ignore the rules.

Shipping bikes between North America and South America
I have some experience with shipping between the US and Latin America. I will help anybody who needs it, for free. Wherever you are, and whatever you have, I'll help you figure out how to get it to where it has to go, at the best rates available given your goals.
There is an extensive amount of shared experience here on advrider, and there's a ton of information on how to ship bikes quickly and efficiently. You just have to know where to look. Shipping can be the most difficult part of a normal experience, but it doesn't have to be. You just need to understand the process. I am not a vendor and I'm not interested in being part of anything of value changing hands. I'm offering this for free. Send me a PM and we'll get started. Or, we can communicate in a shipping thread of your own. I prefer to communicate in public, so that others can benefit from everyone's experience. If you need to operate in secret, then I can't help you. I'm pretty sure I can save anyone money.

Shipping bikes between PANAMA and COLOMBIA
Bike-transport between Panama and Colombia.
Stahlratte offers that service for a couple of years now. There had been a lot of talk about bike-transport on that route during the last weeks because of new restrictions on the colombian side. However, Stahlratte is still able to do it including the beautiful island of San Blas. The price for motorbike+driver is 900usd (additional person 430usd). * For more details check out these links: http://www.stahlratte.de/prices-disc...arta-biker.pdf http://www.stahlratte.de/prices-disc...pana-biker.pdf Tour-plan:* http://www.stahlratte.de/panama_cartagena_tours_en.html One or two times a year we do trips to Cuba and Mexico, too. http://www.stahlratte.de/carib_tours_en.html Any more questions? Howdy--
I'm currently in Costa Rica, and originally the plan was to dip down to Panama and then flip back around and head back north to the US--however now that I'm hear, I'm thinking that I'd just like to continue to South America and get as deep as I can in the time available. Given that time is my priority, I'm thinking that air would be a better fit for me, as although 5 days on a boat sounds awesome, I just don't think that I can spare the time. Can anyone help me pull a bike shipment together from Panama to Bogota? It's December 3rd now, and if I could waive my magic wand, I would be in the air sometime around December 9th to Columbia. I'm traveling, so I might now be johnny on the spot with my replies, but I will be staying each night with WiFi, so I will answer as soon as possible. I have a 2002 BMW 1150 GSA with Happy Trail Panniers. Thoughts?
