You can pop a shield, wash out the grease, oil and put the shield back in. But really, it is plenty close with them in. I never feel a shake Rod |

I use 1/2" round stock with a magnetic torpedo level hung from it, pretty simple. No point in over thinking this shit eh? I have my favorite tires like everyone and when chainging like for like it pretty much never changes.

Seriously does not matter a hell of a lot. First time you hit a BFR it changes anyway! Only the Starbucks crowd agonizes over wheel balancing |

Did something similar for my DL1000. Made some quick & dirty uprights, far cruder than the pic above, with 90 degree "V" notches rather than round holes. Then I bought an 18" piece of 20mm shaft stock and a pair of open 20mm ID bearings from McMaster-Carr. The bearings rest in the notches.
Wheels are balanced with MotionPro stick-on weights to higher speeds than I care to push the Strom - all is good.

I just bought the HF one, nice enough piece.
I had just tried Dyna Beads and after swapping tires on/off and testing the beads, the weights and nothing I'm convinced that nothing is just fine. I can't find a difference between any of them. My front wheel took 3/4 oz and I can remove it with no effect at all up to 100 MPH. |

There are crap tools that just get thrown around. Then there are others that I depend on for good accuracy and look/feel right for the job. MP balancer is one that I like to take out of the box and use. |

I can understand that. Why pay for substandard work?
I built one similar to the one in your link for under $30. It acts as a wheel balancing and truing stand. I used precision Swiss bearings without seals (you ought to see this thing resolve), some sheet metal that I sheared and bent for the base and 1"x 3" tubing for the uprights. It was nicely TIG welded. There was no way I was going to let anybody change my tires and nick a rim, so why stop there. ![]() BTW, balance your wheel rim by itself just to find the heavy spot. Then install your tire accordingly.
