As I said before, there are a plethora of bikes that can make the trip. With a bit of help in the nasty spaces, I could have done the trip on my VStrom, but the clutch and skidplate would have been trashed. Also, we had a Baja1000 finisher do the trip on a 950.....that few could have successfully wrestled through the tough stuff, but he was fine with his exceptional skills. We also had a rider decide that his KRL was not going to allow him to finish the ride and he bowed out. Its all about chosing the best tool for the job. A 250cc bike is not the best tool....neither is a 1200cc Adventure bike. This ride is an application process......where we will evaluate your bike selection and your riding experience and skills. By the way, The Breeze is a darn good rider and he rode that 250 just about as good as anyone I have every seen. .......

Spoken with TRUTH!
It is also a testament to the WR250 that the headlight works great when most of the bike is under water!!!!! Quote:
fixed it for you ![]() The bike also runs down the trail, excellent, with a high amount of man-power!!!

Man, I'm getting misty eyed
All the fond memories are flooding back (play on words in case you didn't notice...) The ride, the vistas, the repeated falling over, the incredible people, and the incessant good natured banter. I'm soooo ready for the 2013 CAM 1000. Recently returned from some practice riding in California with Mike and only fell once ....but it was a spectacular. Certainly not as memorable as Scott's off trail jaunt but since I knocked myself out I really can't remember a thing The CT scan was negative in case you're wondering

Notice.....all 2012 CAM1000 riders.....
Your email invitation/place holder for the 2013 ride will be coming this week. Look out for it and reply per the instructions. You have until Jan. 4 to secure your slot. ------------------------- For everyone else who wants to participate in the ride, you will receive an email application packet the first of January. Applications will be reviewed and invitations will be sent about the first of February. An appealing application will include evidence of strong riding skills, the selection of the proper motorcycle, a thoroughly thought-out list of gear and a strong desire by myself to find the people with the right attitude, a team mentality and a clear understanding of the definition of -- Extreme Adventure Riding. (In other words, shit can go wrong and everyone has to role with it.) ---------------- Some have asked.......How many slots for new riders? Just an example......If 8 of our 2012 riders decide to return for 2013, then there will be 16 open slots for new riders. For 2013, there will be 24 riders with 6 guide/leaders. This is an elite ride where we need to keep the numbers down, to really 'take care' of each rider and so that everyone has a great social experience. .........

Merry Christmas Boyzzzz'
Hey Guys, thanks for the laugh. Whata' great time that was.
I can't eat chicken wings without thinking of Marble Co. I can't drink a cup of coffee without comparing it to the Starbucks morning coffee provided by Tom. I can't do a wheelie without seeing the BIG TICKET wheeling along beside me. I can't cross a creek without seeing " the most interesting man in the world ,son" . And of all things i can't look to the left without a jabbing pain in my neck,.... thanks for the lift boyz. No pics of that, ya i got off easy on that one .It seems i have been riding all summer with you guys , thanks again. See you in 2013 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Scott |

Merry Christmas 2012 CAM Riders
I sincerely hope this holiday season finds all the 2012 CAM 1000 riders happy, healthy, and prosperous in life. And hopefully thinking about preparing for the 2013 ride.
Knowing Big John's commitment to organizing true "adventure" rides, I can't wait for this coming year's event. I continue to watch the 2012 video on a regular basis, although I have increased my interval from watching the video to once every two weeks vice every day or week.... It was an absolute pleasure riding with you all and gave me memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Tom |
