You are probably asking on the right side of the steel plates
They need to have the punched sharp side of all the plates looking the same side. Today I opened a clutch and the sharp side was outwards. The rest rules are:
the larger inner diameter friction disc is placed deepest together with the bellevil spring ring, the friction ring with denser friction material pads goes last outwards and one position out of alligment, the presure plate alligns the triangular sign with the basket sign. The clutch bolts should be quite firmly tightened. Cheers

Dont even know what kind of bike your working on,you should really have a manual before tearing mechanical stuff apart.
Asking for advice on here can be entertaining but who knows how accurate.

05.5 950A. With 18000 miles. I'm looking in the how but the schematic is small and hard to read.

gefr gave you correct info.
I like to open a good parts diagram, like Munn Racing, to get a good over view of what's in store. Are you having problems ? Remember the clutch oil jet needs cleaning. I believe there was a clutch push rod update on that bike. You should find that info in the HOW. Don't worry about the geniuses on this site , they have known everything their whole lives. The rest of us dumb asses have to rely on the help of others (thanks CP) who have already worked through the issues we encounter. Twist it, Max

I think I got it right
Ok. I think I got it right. flat washer goes in first, followed by the beveled washer, bevel pointing toward clutch cover. Then the fiber disk with the largest diameter. followed by alternating steel and fiber disks. All "sharp" sides of steel disks are facing toward the clutch cover and all the notches on the fiber disks line up. Lastly, the final fiber disk with the larger mating surface turned one notch to the right of all other fiber disks. I lined up the arrows on the clutch basket and spring loaded retaining cover. I went for a ride and everything worked great. Im about to do a 1600 mile trip so this has to be squared away now.
Thanks for the help guys, JB |

shit. I think I put the spring washer in backwards. the manual shows the beveled side pointing away from the clutch cover.

need help with clutch asap..... A heading like that brings out the best on the OC I can assure you. By the way there are a few mistakes in the WM, but there is always someone watching that will point them out
