Any deals on a Zumo 350?

One thing I can suggest is going to amazon.com and signing up for their Chase credit card. They give you an incentive when you do, that effectively lowers the price. You have to be careful how you do it, though, because sometimes it offers $30 and sometimes $50. I played around and I think the way it works is that if you have something inexpensive in your cart, like a paperback book, it will offer you $50, but if you have something expensive like a GPS it will only offer you $30. So... you accept the $50 offer and apply with the paperback in your cart, but before finalizing the sale, you add the GPS and delete the book.

I used a 550 for about 7 years. I'm hoping the operation will be similar. Base camp sounds good and I like the idea of track back.

I can't find a good reason to replace my 550

The track back works pretty well; I tried it recently on a ride involving complex directions on paper when I made an error and needed to backtrack.

I have not yet warmed up to BaseCamp. I was pretty good with MapSource ans iike it ok even though it was far from perfect. I am using BaseCamp now with the 350 and I really should break down and read the help file on it. I am getting the job done with it, but am confised by some aspects of it.

Me either, other then it was 7 years old and acting up. I actually tried to find a new or refurbished unit, but no luck.

Yeah, the availability of refurbs is spotty. I looked into getting a refurbished one of the newer gen units before I sprung for the 350 and just couldn't find one.

I had a conversation with Garmin today while I was doing an update on the 550. I was having an issue with the update and called them (turns out the problem was their end). I asked them how much longer I had on my 550 before they quit supporting it. They said there were no plans in the foreseeable future to quit supporting the 550.
