GS Bar risers
I have posted this before in the vendors section and didn't get a response, so I thought that it may be worthwhile to post in the relevant section for the 1200GS. So here goes...
I have a selection of bar risers for sale. I have had these made as there was a demand for some cheaper risers. The risers are painted to match the top yoke and clamps of the R1200GS and Adventure from 2008 onwards, iaw the MU and TU models. A few tossers have bought it and were happy with the risers. I have a set mounted and it has been in use for a few months with no problems. It makes the reach to the handle bars a bit better and improves comfort. Depending on how tall you are I can add that the 40mm risers makes a big difference when standing on the pegs in the Tesco car park. You can have a read through the thread here. Unfortunately I could not deliver the risers for £20 a set as was the aim. It comes with the stainless steel bolts to mount it to your steed. Available is 1 x 20mm, several 30mm and a whole lot of 40mm risers. I need to clear this stock to pay the machinist and start with the risers for the pre 08 1200GS and 1150GS if there is still a demand. So to you for £27.35 incl postage to UK mainland. To the States it will cost you $60 a set with delivery confirmation. If you can get risers for cheaper in the states please let me know. They seem to be beautifully made and reasonably priced.
However, I am not exactly sure how they mount: aren't GS handlebars installed with two 2-hole clamps? Also, you may want to sell via eBay - many of us are prowling for accessories over there as well. Good luck. Robert.

On the 08 onwards models the mounts bolt to the yoke by a single bolt. The second bolt clamps the handle bar between the upper and lower mount. Theses risers just fit underneath the the mounts. Here you can see the different size of the bolts no 3 (M10x90) & 4 (M8x30).
![]() I have tried the ebay route before with no luck. I'll give it a go again. Thanks. |
