I've only witnessed you falling over once and that was this last time at Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Spring place...

I needed to have video of when I crashed the KLR going about 50 on a gravel road or when I crashed the Honda Interceptor going 75. I'm sure the interceptor crash would have went viral. That one was back in my squid days when I was in college.

Both wrecks I rode home and then went to the hospital afterwards. KLR wreck snapped my shoulder blade in half during road enduro in April 2011. I finished the ride and then road home from Zanesville to Troy in hurricane force winds. :huh

It's a wonder I'm still alive so I try to enjoy and record the rides while they last...

What are y'all running on the back of your WRR? (Since there's about 2 dozen of 'em in this thread) I have a worn Michelin T63 on there now, have no complaints about it, but haven't been on any mud. The guy I bought the bike from gave me some type of trials tire that looked like it would suck in mud, but feels pretty soft and the stock Trailwings (or whatever they are). I have 244s on the KLR & they seem OK. Do the T63s work well in all conditions? If so I may just pick up a new one.

I have always used the Kenda Trackmaster II and several other WRRs on here run them too. Good on pretty much everything.

This most recent tire change I thought I'd try a different tire, just for shits and giggles. I ended up with the Pirelli MT21, which was a substitute for the backordered T63.

I found the MT21 to suck my balls in the Michigan sand. I disliked them immensely. Even on gravel, they felt really squirrily.

I'm still running them, only to kill them, but I'll be sticking with the Trackmasters henceforth.

Yes, with lube and 3 spoons. Piece of cake then...well any tire is.

Just let it warm up in the sun first if you do have problems.

Yes.

The Trackmaster is a lot "looser" than other tires anyway.

I'm running the 100/100 on my WRR. It was great in the Michigan sand and mud and continues to do a great job here in the rocks and gravel.

The smaller tire has less power-sapping mass and the smaller diameter keeps your gearing about the same as stock.

Plus 1 for the 100/100. I dont like the trackmaster front. It doesn't seem to hook up good in the mud and they wear out uneven. I run what ever new or used MX tires I can find on the front.
Went to the Doctor yesterday for my leg. He said its looking good. I ask him why it hurts all the time and he didn't have much of a anwser other then it takes time to heal.
Stoped at the pony on the way home and bought a new jacket and pants.

+1 on the Trakmaster 100/100, I've had them on all my bikes always been great for the mixed riding and trails I do.

Don't like the TM fronts either. Honestly just looking at it you can tell it's not an ideal front. The paddle design makes no sense for a front tire, where there's no torque or power to put that to work. Most fronts are staggered knobs, for a reason. The front wants to wash out on me, and it feels odd on the pavement.

I like the Sedona MX877IT front tire for a dual sport front, it's a great all around front tire and is pretty affordable.

I'm headed out for a ride in just a few...headed to Blissfield to get a covered bridge, then back to Peggy Sue's for lunch. Here's my intended route:

I may give that a try, seems reasonable. I know I run a skinnier rear on my mountain bike when it's muddy; helps get down through the slop to traction not to mention lbs of weight per tire square inch.
I do plan to gear my bike down a little at the same time. It's about due for sprockets & chain anyway. I'm trying to decide between 47&48/14. Not quite as low as 43/12, but a little lower than stock. In theory, the larger cogs should make the chain last longer as well as keep me off the swing-arm slider thing. Probably just go with a decent O-ring chain. I hate that the bike will go faster in 5th than 6th due to not enough power to pull the way too tall gearing. I find I generally end up slowing down when up-shifting to 6th. I think 1st & 2nd could stand to be a bit lower. I'm also finding I rarely use 6th around here, it won't even pull these paved hills, so may as well make 1st a creeper gear.
