![]() Why not just put a wire cage around everything and hook a fence charger to it?

It's really not that big a deal. I know people who have all their stuff rack mounted with custom faceplates and have some serious cash invested in their systems. This is just a simple protective measure for a couple hundred bucks. |

Well, I broke down and bought a 12U wall mount locking rack server cabinet and three shelves. It should arrive tomorrow or Friday. I'll have to do a bit of work re-running some speaker and electrical wiring, but I think it will work out for the best. And then I'll have to patch up some holes and such in the wall from my current setup. Oh well, I needed something to keep me busy anyway...

With our 1yo, he's definitely learning boundaries when he tries to hit the dog, who isn't afraid of biting you to let you know he's not happy. It is absolutely unacceptable that he play with the dog. And we use any time he approaches the dog to show him the type of reaction he gets out of us...a real firm no, and alot of displeasure. We did this w/ our older fellow too, and didn't let him touch the dog until he learned the word "gentle." No problems with him. Same kind of idea, but w/ something like knobs, it's easier to set up the plastic babygate and wait till he learns "no" through some other context, then apply that "no" business to the hifi when he's already figured out what it means. |

We've had the dog issue as well. He's pretty good about that after getting a nasty scratch (and a trip to the ER with fretful parents) from our Rat Terrier.
He has learned to feed the dog from his high chair (d'oh), so now he and the dog have quite the rapport... |
