I had look again to notice the glasses. My attention was drawn to what resembles a chubby penis on his face.

Blood and Blue: Motorcycles, music and mayhem along the Mississippi

By Tonya L. Thompson

Day Three to the Dragon and Hwy. 129: The Harley’s Lost Appeal

excerpt

"...

And it was here, of all places, that the Harley lost its appeal to me. I’m not sure if it was the overpriced Harley store and the combination of sticker/tattoo/shirt messages I read there, or the fact that every bike off the road was a Harley. After seeing Any Given Sunday, and what can be accomplished when rider and bike are sufficient to handle each other and the terrain, the overpriced, overblown, overweight Harley begged the question: why?
It was then I realized I was meant to be on a café racer, with an electric starter, high pipes, a lightweight frame, and enough horsepower to get me where I want to go without waking up the neighborhood to do it. We’ve found the Mississippi corn field version of the Dragon’s tail, and as soon as my rebuild with Thompson Customs and Racing is finished, you’ll find me there. ......"

Interesting perspectives in the blog

Naw, they would tear away real quick so the human hide could manage the slide.

She does comment about learning about the appropriateness of gear. I will drop her a note to tell her I posted her stuff here.

They don't work behind some face shields that have an anti-UV coating. Mine didn't, so I had a pair of prescription G-15 sunglasses made.

I would have to disagree.

How wonderful to see another budding motorcyclist. An in that not just one looking to get a chromed up HD or the loudest 600rr. So she moves in a circle where getting a CB160 going as fast as it can, or putting a rusted out CL350 back on the road is a thing of joy. We then become mentors, not to reshape based upon how we have become but to encourage her into a competent biker regardless of CCs, model and age. I hope we never tire of seeing the excitement of one changing their life against the flow of current standards, of becoming one in love with two wheels.

Oh wait.. sorry.. I forgot the "Confirmed Curmudgeon" part.. just forget what I wrote.

I'm absolutely thrilled to see someone make an unusual or unpopular choice in motorbikes. It's just not necessary to disparage bikes that aren't your flavor.
