Joe if you can will you list exactly what springs and weights you ended up using? I think I will order the same setup you did sometime this winter and I figured I would start from there and adjust as need for my 200 lb carcass.
The ProvoScooter site had the Malossi option when I ordered my variator but I thought the pictured item was the Technomoto, which it wasn't. One reason for purchasing the kit was to get a variety of roller weights for tuning but the Technomoto kit only had one set of weights. The weights weren't marked or documented (I'm going to recheck that tonight) that I saw so I tried weighing them on some crude food scales. The best I could get with the scales was that the stock 7g rollers and the Technomoto kit rollers look to be the same weight. I've seen on another forum that the kits come with either 5.5g, 7g, or 9g rollers. It seems that I have the 7g rollers.

As for springs I ended up using the yellow Leo Vince kit springs. The stock springs feel weak compared to the kit springs and after changing the springs once it would take some powerful evidence to make me consider changing them the promise of doubling the power. ProvoScooter sells some "heavy duty" red springs which I ordered with my variator. I'm still not sure why. I'll be sending them back in exchange for new rollers.

BTW, I'm 170lbs so I would opt for some lighter rollers to haul more weight around. I'm going to try some lighter rollers myself. I took my wife for a ride around the neighborhood and the little bit of engine loading before coming on the pipe is really magnified two up. Where I originally liked that bit of loading as it made the take-off in traffic more manageable I now think it's not suitable for two up riding. The tuning ballpark has gotten small enough that I think I can just take one more stab at roller weights before calling it quits and just riding the dang thing.
