Disassembled oil pressure relief valve

and read an hour later in the manual that I'm not supposed to.

It was functioning fine. I just disassembled it to clean without thinking.

I'm guessing the ball could be damaged, which is why the manual advises against taking it apart. I'm thinking of running a little brake cleaner from the top to make sure it doesn't come out the other end. Would this be enough to ensure I didn't damage any tolerances?
