Hi Annie, I have only just found out, I'm thinking of you both, all the best. A hospital is not the best place to spend the Xmas, New Year, but it sure beats the alternative, I'm sure Kevin will pull through being the fighter he is.
Once again all the very best. mitch

I'm sorry to hear about this and the hospital may be a miserable place to spend the holidays. I don't get over here that often. I hope you survive the miserable food and limited freedom but from what I've read, you are more than half way through the treatment. So, are you planning on coming up this summer?

My prayers are with both of you. I started following this little part of the asylum several years ago as I planned my 2011 trip to Alaska. When I came home. I found myself still coming back to the forum, maybe so I could relive some of our travels as I read of yours. While it may be a while before I can get back, following your travels brings back mine. But as time has gone by, I feel, in a way, that I know some of you by following your exploits. And the one thing unique to you folks is the love and respect you show for each other. Always reaching out to help each other, very little acrymony and a genuine fondness and caring for one another. It's very nice in this day and age. A year ago at this time, I was 2/3 rds of the way thru my 44 radiation treatments for cancer. Maybe not as serious as yours, but cancer. I saw alot of specialists when deciding treatments, and radiation was the best recommendation. Today I am cancer free. Six months after my treatments were over, I spent 2 weeks riding Colorado. You can beat this, and I suspect that with the love and frienship your extended family has shown, you will. God speed, and go get em.

Hey all, just a quick update to share at Alaska Leather this evening!
While his white cell count has plummeted to less than 500, our spirits have not. Docs tell us this is perfectly normal with this treatment and they expect it to begin rising in time for the final round of chemo next week and the last 5 radiation treatments. In the home stretch now! Of course, this all requires him to wear a mask for his own protection, which he at first decided was not for him, until his Doc referred to it as ATGATT! I It is a lovely shade of peach..... ![]() We, (I) cannot thank everyone enough for all the thoughts and prayers, and good wishes. Indeed you are all an amazing special group of people and we are proud to be part of the family! Lift a toast to D2D, to all those we have loved, and to those we still do. Annie

You're doing a fine job of pinch-hitting for Kevin's "ascerbic, pithy, biting, sarcastic sense of humor". , but it will be great when he's back to doing it himself. We're all looking forward to hearing that he's back home and sharing his ready wit. Thanks for keeping us all up-to-date. It is appreciated.

Well, we have a bunch of things for which we are thankful.....
The Mayans were wrong, Legions' MasterCard/Visa while still smoking, has not burst into flames( we went through that wedding stuff two years ago, we understand!), ALCAN Rider may learn to count with intense assistance from Kul Mom, And Kevin had his last chemo treatment, and his 35th and final radiation treatment today! He still feels wretched, but is now on the uphill side heading for healing. He will be in the hospital at least through the new year, but mending each day. Best Christmas present I have had in a long tome! We wish all of you love, laughter, healthy families, and a very Merry Christmas!

Outstanding news! Glad to hear it! I can't even imagine what 35 rad treatments must be like but I'd guess it'd take a day or two just to recover your wits after each session. That's got to be a little tough for a guy that likes to keep his honed with a strop. Good job of hanging in the scrap and I seriously hope that took a lot out of you... like, all of it. My best to you both during the recovery and I'll do my best to dial the good vibe sender up a notch. Very glad to hear it, K&A.

Happy New Year to all!
Kevin is slowly getting his voice back. He sounds like a good dirt road in Alaska at the moment, very gravelly. Still hooked up to all kinds of tubes since he still cannot swallow anything, which allows the better living through chemistry delivery system to work well also. Like new tires on your bike, he is finally getting a grip on things, but is a bit squirrelly. Hoping to spring him by mid-month(says he feels like a POW) or sooner if he can swallow real food.....like applesauce or jello.....beer may take a while longer! Sunrise this morning was beautiful! Life is good, Hugs to everyone, Annie
