My ride to the keys was 1000 miles each way.
I have sailed across the Gulf in the winter to get there, I have flown there, and I have ridden my bike there. Next year my wife wants to drive down there (with the top down), so I'll add that to the repetoir. I like the Keys. That said, I'll be in Mexico in January and early February.

Looks just like my fake Rolex. Mine was purchased in Wuhan, China by a friend. Self winder, not electric, looks really good and only loses about a minute per week. I wear it to piss off my brother.

Another tip, a mugger will take you down for a fake Rolex as quickly as he will for a real one so don't wear yours on your visit to Fantasyland.

Last time I called 911 here in teh states it took 21/2 hrs. to get respose! I've spent 5 of the last 8 years traveling and living in Central America and feel as safe in all those countries as I do in the USA.

What would worry me in Mexico would be the availibility of medical care or responce time of law enforcement there. We are spoiled with our 911 system that gets immediate responce when used. There are many places state side that mimic the beautiful surroundings of Mexico without the fear of harm for no reason. Why do you think half of Mexico's people travel to the US? For safety, security and free medical care as well as a host of other freebies. I will keep exploring the treasure we have north of the border for now and maybe one day venture south to explore once they get a handle on the drug lord issue.

Had a fantastic ride today down "The Devil's Backbone" from Durango to Mazatlan. Oops I shouldn't be so effussive... I know there are much better roads in Florida



But it was REALLY REALLY dangerous - or at least the last few feet were...



You gottta watch out for those deep gutters dipshit!

Had a great time in Durango, seems like a really nice city - and have to give a big thanks to SR for his hospitality, local knowledge, and letting me mess up his garage!

Nice report Trevor. BTW, I'm shutting down the hotel and moving to Florida for the great riding. I'll be offering MC tours in the state as well. I have not been on the ADV all that long and I didn't do a search but your post is the first one I've read where the word "effusive" was used. As an English Major, I salute you.

I've been going to MX since 1992. Driving through day and night to Aquismon, SLP. I've had to pay a few bribes...and didn't mind..a ticket or two...had some firecrackers thrown my way...For the most part I have enjoyed every moment of the trips down south...I haven't been killed, beheaded, abducted, robbed, or accosted. Mostly I've been blessed. Thank you Mexico. Effusive !!
