Look here on the MTF for info about Kevin and Deb's collision if you hadn't heard. Maybe you hadn't met them but had communicated online with them like many of us do. Their daughter was on another bike in the same group. Serious injuries, completely preventable, just a damn shame. $$ circumstances are dire as well. A link to contribute is in the MTF thread along with all the other details.

Kevin was just starting his left turn when the car hit his bike, throwing Kevin, Deborah, the bike, and luggage into the air. The bike exploded and burned and is a total loss. Dan Barnett, riding sweep, is knowledgeable in first aid and applied a tourniquet to Kevin's leg and probably saved his life. Dan met with us Saturday morning in Cedar Key to provide an update on their condition and the details of the accident. The Kenansville Fire Dept is a short distance from the accident site, so I understand that Paramedics or EMT's were on the scene quickly.

As of Saturday morning, Deborah was awake and lucid. Kevin was heavily sedated, and, although able to breathe on his own, was on a ventilator. For security reasons, the hospital operator does not have the names or room numbers of trauma patients, especially while they are still in intensive care, but the address and phone number of the hospital may be useful in a few days:

Well I'm glad this wasn't rejected here. After reading the rules about crash info I wasn't entirely sure it would be. That's why my post was so sparse, so anyone really interested would have to look where I suggested. Give what you can, they're gonna need it!

did they catch he insane car driver and charge them?

He was apparently cited at the scene as the responsible driver.
