I assume that it is your left knee that is sore - did the handle bars force your leg in the fall ? Hope you rode back without any problems.

Are you [engine] braking, judging by the speed decrease leading up to the crash, making the front end more likely to deflect or tuck?

I'm wondering what you were riding on; a road, trail network or ?
Private or public? Looks like a mix of dirt & paved? Probably help to air down a bit in those conditions, though w/ out studs you are fooked on ice.

- too slippery. Legs out, bent; same happens if just trail inclines.

It was a dirt trail, hard packed in some places. Its public roads (byways), very strict here in the UK where you can ride. Tyres had 15psi in, you sometimes have to do quite a bit of paved road inbetween the trails

Seemed like great terrain, nice scenery too! I especially liked the tight, hedge-lined sections .
Out of curiosity, are there a good number of dirt roads there still? I'm fairly confident there are still more miles of dirt vs paved here in the US. Trails, on the other hand...

Not too sure about other parts of the UK, some places look like they have a lot more than us, Northumbria area, and the likes of Scotland there is none as they have different laws there and i think its all private land or something like that |
