Anyone know the iridium plug part number for '12 + 690 E's? Is it the same or different then 08-11's?

Oh and added Dandini's 2008 RTW review to the HOW.

http://ktm690.info/index.php/690_Hal...90E_RTW_Review

I'll probably add a separate section for things like that in the future.

Adapted the valve shim calculator spreadsheet for LC8's to 690 enduro's. Also did my first valve check and will be removing the SAS and Canister, and will have write-ups for both.

maybe it would be useful to add a page listing the known issues of the 690 with links to the fixes, sort of a todolist for new 690 owners :)

Hokay so I've opened it up so anyone can edit it anonymously. If you want to upload files you'll have to create an account (easy, just a name and a password don't need an e-mail if you don't want).

Here's mediawiki (the wiki software)'s page on how to edit/use a wiki: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Editing

Here's a short guide:

To edit a page click on the edit link in the upper right corner. Also to create an account or log in, click on the appropriate links in the far upper right corner.

Here's an example of what a page with links to other pages looks like, to create a new page you have to first create the link to the page by doing [[somepage]] in the edit box. That will create a link named "somepage" from the page you're on. Also you see here the way to link to an uploaded file if you don't want an image displayed.

So one of the annoying things (though I can understand the reasoning behind it, is that the wiki software needs two spaces in the edit window to display one space in normal view. Compare arrows 1 and 2 from the edit page to the displayed content in the next two pictures. Also to make a heading use the ==some heading/category== in the editing window. Typically with anything in the wiki if you want a subcategory you would do three symobls instead of two example: ===some subcategory=== versus the ==higher level category==.

For file uploads create an account (or log in) then on the left side a link will appear:

Then choose your file to upload, note the file type restrictions. If you want a file type added let me know. Also, the file size limit is 10 MB not the 5 MB the page says. Again if you need a larger file uploaded let me know.

Now name your file, and remember your file name (you can look it up later if you want). I like doing a naming scheme to help me organize pictures in a topic. Such as "Bartron-Cannisterectomy-1.jpg" "Bartron-Cannisterectomy-2.jpg" etc. So when you add the pictures to the wiki page it's easier to remember what goes where. You don't need to do a naming convention I just find it really helpful. To see how I've done it look at a page with pictures in the wiki in edit mode.

Now to add a file go and edit a page and the either click the embedded file button or type in [[file:YourUploadedFilename]]. In this case I created a new section on the main page and linked to the file I uploaded.

The end result:

It's also important to note you CAN put links to files into a page before the files are there. An advantage to this is whatever you name the file in the page is automatically transferred to the upload page when you click on the file link that shows up when there is no file by that name uploaded yet.

The link shows up as red when I rename the file link in the edit page to Somefile-example-2.jpg instead of Somefile-example-1.jpg. Then if you click the red link you will be taken to the upload page and the file name "Somefile-example-2.jpg" is already set.

Here's a simple C++ program I made for linux users to take a text file and add a new line anytime it encounters two newline characters in the file. This was compiled on an amd64 platform.

http://convulsingmuffin.com/warehous.../wikiconverter

Here's the source code if you wish to compile it yourself.
http://convulsingmuffin.com/warehous...kiconverter.cc

Baiscally it looks for an input file named "thefile" and outputs to a file named "convertedfile". It's not perfect, some manual post editing will be necessary to put it into the wiki, but it helps speed up the process.

I read the instructions and will do a writeup for the wiki in the next few weeks for TPS adjustment, the cold garage isn't very inviting to wrenching at the moment .

Same goes for my valve check, sas, and canisterectomy writeups, and oil change.

valve check would be awesome :) someone made a writeup on SMJ a while ago but it didn't cover everything in as much detail as I'd have liked

KTM Twins sent me two SAS blockoff plates for some reason therefore the first person to upload one decent sized walk-through or a couple small tidbits to the wiki can get the plate for free.

Writeups coming tomorrow if not this weekend for SAS, canisterectomy, valves, and oil change.
