and someone does know where i can find it in europe?
These are only for EXC,there is not enough room around the rear tank on a 690 to get 1 notch movement at a time with those C spanners.
We change the OEM(weak) lock rings for our stainless thicker locking ring, then it is possible,by using a jack-up stand to take the weight off the rear wheel,to turn the lock ring using an aluminium or brass bar.

Screw driver might work ok on the beefy shock collars but it will just deform and bind the stock 690 one resulting in you having to cut off the collar with a dremel. I know nothing about this from personal experience last summer.

I bought a 3/8" diameter brass rod and cut a 10" piece off to use as a drift. I used it on my 2012 690 shock and it deformed the collar rings with no deformation to the rod. I'm getting a new aftermarket collar installed with my revalve.

Cheers,

Unfortunatly with the OEM collar the best way is to remove the shock from the bike. I use a large channel lock plier to turn the collar rather than apply a shock load with a drift which will oval the OEM butter soft rings.

The 2012 & 2013 models are supposed to be the same as far as I know.
It's just that, here in the US, all the 2012 are gone so anyone wanting a new 690 is going to have to wait for the 2013s to show up, which is likely going to be around March/April 2013.

I use 1 Motionpro C spanner and 1 BMW GS C spanner suitably ground down to adjust preload. That said, I can only reduce preload, the other direction is buggered

Because my bike is an 08 there was no beefy collar replacement available. I believe I have one from a Suzuki 1000 on it now.

Ok, maybe not different pitch...different though that the 09 and newer collars don't fit. I have not been around the forum too much lately. I will check it out. thanks for the link.
