Bingo - we staged in Elkford and wanted to try Racehorse from west to east. got stopped by snow at about 6500'. There was a ton of run-off in places that really made for deep ruts on some of the climbs. The other side of the valley (Crossing Creek / Koko Claims) was in good shape - fun, long rocky climbs that make your arms feel like rubber at the top.

That's cause that side has no soil... hahaha

I've only come from west to east on that one, but I've wanted to tackle that hill climb yet. It just goes on FOREVER!!!

Coming down is tiring on the arms too trying to hold it all back with a loaded bike. Creek Crossing / KoKo is a great crossing but not for the weak of heart.

Hey Guys, nice to see some preliminary spring planning going on. Sorry I've been MIA, having a son caused the last 4 months to be a blur. I should have my Charriot mounting bracket from Touratec by spring and ready for some riding.

Trying to get my valves adjusted, but Anderwerks has never returned my calls, anyone know any other good BWM shops, I should just do it myself, but time is a precious commodity these days.

Cheers!

If in the New Year if you want help with the valves, I can help you. I've checked mine 3 times and they have been in spec. Takes about 3 easy hours. Pm if interested. Blackfoot will do it for around 200.00 Anderwerks must never need the work as they never call back!

It seems whenever I go to do a valve adjustment, I spot 5 other things that need fixing or replacing and the 3 hr job turns quickly turns into a multi-month ordeal. Started doing the valves on my wife's bike back in October... it's still sitting on the bike stand waiting for me to finish.

^^

Does she ride a KLR?!

Brapp!!!

There has been talks started about doing a north B.C trip next summer. Two weeks of back trail and roads, hauling ass and camping.

Already stoked to ride again!

BTW, takes me about 40 minutes to check/adjust my valves, but I also do it every 4000 KM's or sooner. haha. Still love the XRR.

Horray!

Happy to announce that after a two-year layoff (young kids), I plan on getting back onto my 640 for a few day trips (maybe longer, God (wife) willing!) this year so perhaps on my journeys I will see a few old friends and meet some new ones from this site.

Looking forward to riding West, South and North from Cowtown.

I can't wait!

Good to hear!

On Dec 28th I saw a guy on a KLR in Saskatoon in -22 (near -30 windchill) with NO STUDS and VERY icy roads.

That guy had balls.

I wanted to talk to him but my dad was with me and we had places to be.

Another great day of riding yesterday - conditions at Waiparous were near perfect:

X2 on conditions yesterday. Was out in the jeeps. Deepest snow was like ten inches on the back side north facing hills. Minimal ice on trail compared to past years.

I was out shooting too!

Beautiful weather. Around 2:30-3 it got a little cooler, but up until then it was awesome!

Thumb Great pictures!

I am rink-bound till April, but keep the pics coming!

Hoping to go to the Calgary MC show Friday, but it depends on my kids.

Tyler, good to see you are still alive! We will have to hook up this spring for a cocktail!
