Your Mexican buddies are screwing with you.
It is pronounced with a hard "G' think "lguana." "Gwan" and not "Juan". That was why I questioned it at the start, I've never heard anyone here pronounce it "juana", ever. Now, let's all join hands and say "Xoxocotla".
