CC came from behind to beat Wisconsin last night, 5-4. Five different Tigers scored and 11 names are on the scoresheet including an assist for goalie Josh Thorimbert.

Info on this game varies. USCHO has a box score published but its scoring summary has the wrong names listed and even the wrong team listed as scoring the varoius goals. http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey...-vs-wisconsin/. UWBadgers.com has an error too. Winkler scored from Krushelnisky and Stoykewich at 5:02 in the 3rd but they play for CC not UW. http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-ho...110312aab.html but also has a box score that might be correct and lists who was on the ice for both teams for each goal. Classy! http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-ho...2013/g5cc.html

GO TIGERS!!

Air Force lost to Holy Cross.

DU lost to St Cloud.

Its too bad the best coverage of CC hockey comes from opponent's home news sources. Its not too late for me to change my major to sports journalism and buy a smartphone.

DU 6, CC 2
Tigers needed Schwartz .... DU goaltender Juho Olkinuora and CC center Rylan Schwartz both served a one-game suspension.... I believe this was for fighting at the end of Fridays game.
Denver's 9-1-0 start is the team's best since starting 13-1-0 in 2001-02...The last time Denver swept a series with the Tigers was Dec. 2-3, 2005...the last time DU scored 12 goals in a series against Colorado College was March 5-6, 1993, when the Pioneers outscored the Tigers by a combined score of 12-4 in a pair of games in Colorado Springs.
DU needs just one point against CC in the series on Feb. 8-9, 2013, in order to reclaim the Gold Pan Trophy for the fourth time in the past five years.

Tie and a win for the Gophers against Wisconsin this weekend.

Gophs have been awful on Fridays for as long as I can remember... then turn around and play very well on Saturdays.

Biggest surprise might have to be the winless UMN-Duluth Bulldogs. Thought that program had turned a corner, but once the three stud forwards graduated, nuthin.

Michigan tech, after a few rough weeks, got back on track with a road sweep of Bemidji State, a pair of overtime wins.

Was able to listen on Friday night, Tech was down 4-1 late in the second, tied the game with about two minutes left in the game, and got the game winner another two minutes into OT.

Techs freshmen players have looked great, but the goaltending is still a bit shaky.

Tonight something happens that I first remember happening in about 1979: New Hampshire plays hockey in the World Arena. I think it was the year I was turning 4 maybe 5. My dad is an UNH Alumni. My first hockey game was in the Broadmoor World Arena. I remember we sat in the back row of the East end with our backs against the huge USA flag that covered the whole end wall. I don't remember the score or even watching the game at all except that I learned what icing was as the PA announcer announced the reason for every whistle back then. That was it, my parents and their only child watching the Wildcats and the Tigers.

I wish I could be there with them tonight. They have seats in the ADA row in the North end of the CS World Arena, The end where the flag hangs. Worksucks.

GO TIGERS!!

And with tonight's L against the Beavers DU is 0-5-3 since sweeping the Tigers.
13 days off, I'm hoping Santa brings these boys some wins for the second half of the season....

We're not sitting in the cheap seats this year.

The annual Mariucci Classic tournament that Minnesota hosts can be kind of a joke, but this year they scheduled Air Force and BC! They beat Air Force 4-0 and now face BC tonight.

I might hafta try to get tickets.

Definitely. BC has another strong squad this year. Should be a good match-up.
