Riding it to go off road was boring as it gets. Sure it did decent off road, but I like riding TO the trails as much as the trails itself

Harley Sportsters, all of them including the XR1200 ( I still don't get that bike.) Buells are interesting. Sporties are just boring. Even the new Bonnie is more entertaining...not by much mind you.

Yamaha FZ6. ZERO bottom end and only came alive near 9000rpm.

Yamaha R6. Again, zero bottom end and there was nothing happening until you got way north of 9000rpm.

Yamaha Strato Liner. The big a/c V Twin thing. No cornering clearance and a motor that shut down a little before 5000rpm.
Those are the only bikes I can think of that made me want to get off of them.

honda Pacific Coast. A playstation is more exciting, as is watching paint dry or sleeping. Don't know what I was thinking. Got rid of it w/in 20hrs of purchase and proceeded to put 60k blissful miles on a TL1000S (very much not boring).

It's a tie between an 883 and an ultra classic, guess I'm just not into Harleys. Good thing there are others out there.

Now you have done it, I thought at least I still had one bike not listed, but no longer. My Vstrom 650 I loved, but sold it in the end because it needed some more power. Bought a GSX1250FA (Bandit), and I love the power, especially with pillion who is not even noticed, but it is not exiting like the Ninja 1000. Also bought a DRZ400E to learn to ride offload, and it is a hoot, even driving to the trails for a few kilometers is fun, would love to take a sm for a spin.

My dream bike is a Multistrada, but the budget does not allow for that.

There is a difference between a boring ride and a boring motorcycle. The former echoes the sentiment in the old saying, "the worst day fishing beats the best day working". We are discussing the latter.

My most boring motorcycle: Kawasaki GT550 with big BMW-style fairing. Ruthlessly efficient mile-muncher. This is the only motorcycle I have fallen asleep while riding...true! Lucky for me there was nothing to hit, but I think that's why the ol' brain switched off: no input.


I had some great rides on it, but it was just sensory deprivation. I got rid of it because it had been neglected and rotted, so things kept breaking on me and it spent too much time in bits waiting for parts. As a daily rider and my primary means of transport, it's time out of service caused me to buy my first new motorcycle. It'd make a good commuter and all-purpose bike, but this particular one was a bad example.

I think there is more boring roads than cycles, doesent matter much what bike you are on if there is no bends.

...but i do think the ST1300 is pretty boring though.

I have one for the wife's 2-up bike. I love it for the reasons you hate it. I hate it because it's so friggin' heavy and only a 5-spd. Great bike, but I'd never have bought it just for me.

Rather be a happy dilettante. When I do eat at MacDonald's (maybe once every two years) I prefer the basic burger.
