Just a question :
I've read that some BMW Dealers can do Remap of injection for better engine output (with adapted exhaust etc). But the solution also exists with Power Commander, Rapid Bike etc Can somebody tell me the + & - of each solution : Remap vs external box ? ![]() Thank you

No personal experience just a general opinion from what I've read on some German boards while searching for the big-bore options.
There are a few BMW tuners that use the Rexxer for their projects and they seem to prefer this above external units because there will be no latency as it is programmed right into the ECU. My fear is that when you would visit the BMW dealership for maintenance and they decide to update your ECU with new firmware the program will get overwritten and then you will need to revisit the tuner company unless you buy the Rexxer unit and manage to get the tuning map onto it. I'm not sure one of the default or pro maps would be sufficient for you, my guess is you want one custom made to your bike So maybe your best bet would be to inform a tuner about this. Good luck! |

Is there a tank bag out there that I DON'T have to take off during refueling? With the MegaMoto's short fuel range, it's an extra pain in the ass to take my current bag off every 100 miles. (Doing so, I lost a clip for the bag!)

Justin,
They way you long distance ride your MM, I would look into buying the HPN fuel tank... |

I would prefer the underseat-tank of Markus.
Less weight on the front, doesn't break the line of the MM. http://www.gs-equipment.de/page5.php ![]() ![]() I did a test. Result : 365 km (227 miles) with the 2 tanks. http://jemelapetenflat.xooit.be/t3692-Autonomie.htm

As of now, there's no plans for adding a second tank or the larger hpn tank. Besides, I don't have much going on this winter, so trip planning (mapping out gas stations) is about all I'll be doing the next couple months. The only areas that I'm concerned about is hiway 1 north of San Fransisco and south of Monterey.

As a matter of fact, I spent the night in Monterey and got up early to take HWY 1 South. Apparently, there had been a fatal accident the night before and CHP had closed the Southbound traffic, just north of Big Sur, for the accident investigtion. Being that it was 7AM mid-week, there were about 20 cars waiting for the CHP to open the HWY. I "bridged" the lanes of parked cars to the front . The CHP said that I was about to have an epic ride down HWY 1 ! IT WAS!!! I blasted down with virtually NO traffic all the way to Cambria-Probably never have that opportunity again...

I did 247 km (153.5 miles) driving a little bit slowly when the counter indicated zero km remaining.
The MM was on side stand when filled to maximum. ![]() The engine stopped, no more fuel. I filled the tank with MM on side stand again. 14,21 liters = 3,75 Gal
