True. On a large trailie the front is most important. The rear though, wears twice as fast as a front knobbie, so a standard GS style tire will last about the same as a knobby front, meaning you can get close to 10K miles from a set, and still do plenty of pavement.

Yes, but... the knobbies are not very good as knobbies after about 8K miles. They are fine as street tires as long as you don't mind a somewhat rougher ride for the last 2K. At 10-11 K the knobs have turned into a wedge, with one edge having lots of lift and the other edge at the wear bars.

I suppose I should head down to may favorite dealer and remind them that I exist as well as tell them to call when they get an LC in for test rides. It's been a long time since I stepped into the show room.

Maybe BMW are splitting the launch for Europe and America, because according to Kevin Ash (UK journalist) he is heading to SA in January.

Another thing learned today, thanks!

Interesting...we'll be able to read some reviews earlier than I thought then.

I knew this bike was in the pipeline but only this week have seen pictures.

then I saw a walk around on youtube. holy cow this thing is wild looking.

the side shots do it no justice but man from the front or this angle.

I'll bite

That is basically a "side shot."

What is it that you're trying/wanting to say?

You had said that the side shot did it no justice and then commented with a curious emote on what is basically a side shot.

Yes, you say that it's "wild looking;" have you formed an opinion whether you like what you see or not yet?
