Steve's flat on his R1150GS on the Oodnadatta Track in 38 degree heat, it was damn hot. We had it plugged and inflated in 10 minutes

I've used up to four or five tire plugs in the same hole to get them to fill up before (emergency fix, but on a skid-steer), so don't feel like you can't put more than one plug in the same hole to try to get somewhere at lower speed. It may work, it may not, but sometimes you have to try.

DirtyDog's hike and experience really hit home at how important it was to have good tubes and tools. Hopefully I will be able to afford getting a better traveling kit soon.

And to check, before setting out, whether the box with patches still sits in the repair kit, as it should be and as it was, some weeks prior to departure until you took it out to repair your daughter's bicycle.

Imagine how I felt, opening the repair kit, pretty sure I had all my bases covered.
