Missadventure is out and about...
Nice to see you are giving the new to you German alpine moto some Spanish lessons and working on your Winter tan...I know you are a very accomplished world travelling bicyclist. I'm always super impressed when I see a bicycle tourer out in the middle of nowhere in the immense West. What a committment! However, when I can, if I get a chance to speak with these long distance foot powered atheletes, I remind them of the major difference between bicycling and motorcycling....It's deeply philosophical really...
"On a motorcycle, you don't have to pedal uphill." Be safe, Enjoy!

thanks ed :)
but then I enjoy pedaling uphill ![]() billy: of course - as long as that drink is a nice cup of tea :) so I rode out to the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument so I could finally go camping! ![]() then I had to go back for tacos and to finally buy stamps. couldn't find stamps :( does no one send mail from mexico? ? I took the 2 from sonoya to san luis. omg - I had planned to eventually off road the Road Sofa, just not yet - but hey. so we got to do mile after mile of gravel. that was fun (once it was over) finally, tacos found me. I'm usually vegetarian, but feel I must try the local fare once in a while. I did pass on the head and tounge tacos.

![]() then I ride, slowly, through checkpoints, and slowly through the border. I should have turned off the bike and pushed it. anyhoo. I stopped in Brawley tonight, and the Road Sofa stopped. dead. as in dead battery. oops. so right now she's got a charger on the starter. wish me luck, I'm hoping to make it to san diego tomorrow to buy a new battery. ![]() and yes, I tied toilet paper to the cord in the hopes no one trips on it tonight!

I got home yesterday. i spent most of Saturday hanging out at the San Diego BMW Motorcycle Shop while they put a new battery in. They were super nice. They actually apologized that it would be a half hour before they could get started on it! They even fixed extra stuff! I thought the fault on my abs just hadn't cleared itself, but the sensor on the front didn't have enough clearance to pick up the information it needed. Thanks again, y'all!!
It was a huge relief to be able to get back on the road the same day. After a long ride through HELL A I was pretty wrecked and only made it as far as Ventura. I was hoping to make it further since the forecast for Sunday was cold and rain all day. Oops. It wasn't so bad. Well, some of it was. Like the second hour of riding, when I had turned off the heated vest without knowing it and water started to run down my leg and into my boots. Then my hands turned blue! The rain slowed down and I made it home no problem. So I rode a total of 3,947 miles, and was gone 18 days. (11 days of riding and 7 days of just lazing around the beach). I never managed a self portrait. Oops. Next time, really! Here are a few pix, enjoy! Thanks for coming along for the ride ![]() i am obsessed with laundry lines. here are a few ![]() ![]() ![]()
