Just got done mounting a 1 1/2 gal Koppins gas tank on the DRZ rack. Had to fab a plate to attach it to. Turned out pretty good, except when I fill it it there is some air in the top. Has some slosh when it rocks back and forth.

Guess I will test it out tomorrow.

those Koplin tanks are pretty neat.

2.6 gal stock - I hit reserve last trip at 105 miles and last 40 miles was Hwy when Albie and I came back Hwy 62 - we were running about 65-70 mph. Reserve is .6 gals so roughly 130 miles or so. That extra 1.5 gal should give me another 75. the good thing is I found it on Amazon for $38.00 with mount and free shipping. lot cheaper than buying a bigger tank and I can take it off if I need to.

Do you happen to have a picture or a link to it? Would be a lot cheaper to go that route then buy a new tank right now.

pretty good actually, im always surprised at how bad the actual fuel economy of a bike is

makes me miss my xt225
