What is the difference from adventure fairing kit and rally fairing kit?

So to be running I need one of above mentioned kits and the EVO2 tank kit, so price range of 2200 GBP or approx. 3500 USD in total? And then add shipping on top.

Jeez, expensive to do the rally thing...

The Adventure & Rally Kit are very similar,apart from the fact the Adventure Kit does not have the extra stiffening plates,T Post,8-way fuse holder,toolbox,roadbook plate and tie-rods.
The extra cost is for those parts to make it race-ready for a rally,and they have been tested over the last 3 years in most international events by many riders,with very few problems,we get a lot of feedback from riders,and any recurring problems with the design are changed to improve the product.
As the saying goes.....racing improves the breed.
Yes,the rally kit is dearer than the Adventure Kit,but when you say expensive,what other rally kit are you comparing it to?

Because the 6mm stainless steel plate that holds the top clamp around the headstock moves the ignition lock back 6mm,so the steering lock pin cannot reach the hole in the steering stem.

This is valid only for the fairing correct?
If you install just the tanks with the little cover and no fairing then the steering lock still works, correct?

With the 2012 Scotts damper and mount, it won't work anyway.

I doubt,because we are running down the EVO1 kits.
Also,anyone that buys an EVO2 upgrade tank kit uses about 50% of the EVO1 kit,so there will not be many parts to re-sell,and definitely not enough to make a full kit.

Not to hijack, but I have a Scotts kit on my '12 690R and my steering lock works fine. Obviously we have different mounting kits.
