It has been a while that I posted an update but do not worry, we are still busy with the preparations. Our route has been planned in detail and we are now busy with a travel agency to sort out some visa. In the meanwhile I am also working on my vespa and at the moment it looks like this:

Ow and by the way, happy and adventurous new year everyone! As a littel new years gift, here is an adventure picture of the old days. It shows Roberto Patrignani who drove his Vespa from Milan to Tokyo in 1964 on the occasion of the Olympic Games.

I was wondering if you had read his book. He is my hero and gave me a lot of insights into long distance riding when I was a youngster. I met him once and he was as kind and helpful in person as he was on the page. A great shame he, like the rest of us, had to die.

I'm guessing the canyon between Kabul and Jalalabad. I drove it back in the good old days (1973) in a VW van.
