Micchub, anybody? I'm looking to roll out of Chester about an hour. (noon) I might do a southern loop. Around Lake Chesdin or something but I can easily be swayed. |

Priorities
Looks like in 2012 I put more miles on the bike than the cars.

Hig and I caged it in his SLK up to Springfield and then took the Metro to catch the last day of the MC show. I wasn't overly impressed with the show. I did buy the correct pin lock insert for my Arai which I installed when I got home. Took no pictures at the show because there really wasn't much of anything impressive. There was a scary Michael Jackson themed bike that disturbingly had MJ's eyes looking up at you from the back of the tank/crotch area.
There were a couple smaller bikes there I had not seen before like the Honda CB500X that will be coming to the US next year. The new GS and the new Triumph explorer look like clones of each other. We also saw at least two adventure pigs (a Honda and a triumph) that mounted the new ultimate adventure touring accessory. A small winch on the rear rack. Should of taken a picture. Edit:found a link to web bike world where they noticed similar winches on a F800 at a different show. http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/warn-hid-lights/ Rick's SLK seems like a nice car, but I don't know after today that it would be my first choice for a road trip.

Here I am sucking in my holiday-gut as to clip heat troller on belt. Ladies, get in line...
Me and Michhub, first ride of the year bombing the back roads around Chesdin trying to blow out the last of the mud road. The sun came out shortly after this pic and it was pretty and not really cold. Quote:

That really is something to be proud of. Very few riders can say that. Way to go Brenda. ![]() jeff

The season for giving ourselves gifts?
Well it must be contagious. I'm departing this morning to go look at a couple of XR650L's in NJ. I needs me a thumper.
Actually, that is the secondary mission. I'm really taking a panoramic photo I found from around 1924 up to a museum in southern NJ. The picture is an outing labeled "Broadway Cycle Co outing to Bridgeton NJ, 18-20 June." It is of an Indian MC club with 20+ bikes taken somewhere in the mid 1920's. I found a musuem up there near Bridgeton and they want it, and they know the last Indian MC dealer's family in the area. It should be fun to get together with them. Believe it or not, I found the framed picture in an antique store in southern Florida. Go figure. Wish I could post it here, but the dang thing is over 3 feet wide and a foot tall. It just won't fit in my scanner........ ![]() See you all later in the week. jeff

The website of the brewery I wanted to check out says Amici will bring food over if your doing a beer tasting, but it looked like they were busy with some renovations so I opted for the Tavern on the James. Great ride out. I actually did hit a gravel road (Paynes Pond) on the way out, but it was so hard packed my ABS didn't activate at all. Explored Scottsville a bit. The Tavern was so nice I really didn't want to leave but the weather was great and I plotted a different ride back. Hit a neat gravel road (Haislip Ln) represented by dashed lines in MapSource. I'm looking forward to another trip out to check out James River Brewing sometime.

I definitely can't say that...72k on cars this year & only 8500 on the GS. Not bad on the GS since August tho...
Brenda- +1 on the RVA ADV sticker...Nicole said she needs one for her 650 bloochdog- ditto for the BWDR sticker for Nicole...she said she won't ride the bike until its correctly stickered. I think she's lying
