I saw this in the local news today. I don't think I'd put my 18 year old daughter in one of these. But they are fun.
TOMAH, Wis. - Four people were injured when their SUV rolled twice after the driver lost control in Tuesday’s snow, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. Officers said the driver of the Chevrolet Tracker lost control in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 near Tomah at 1 p.m. Tuesday while it was changing lanes. The driver, Hayley Malone, 18, of Kendall, was transported to Tomah Memorial hospital along with the passengers ranging in range from 14 to 44. All are from Kendall. The State Patrol said none of the injuries are life-threatening.

They all do that.
But I have been in a lifted Samurai which was tilted WAY over and didn't roll. Low speed vs high speed, these things ain't F1 cars by a long shot. You can't tell how steep this is in the picture, but it was hard to walk up. ![]() Slightly modified

I must correct myself. No ABS. I was thinking that i'd never seen a dash light for it, I looked for the modulator w/ brake lines under the hood, nope. The seller said it had it. Its got plenty of brakes but the rotors are warped. No big deal.

I bought this 96 a couple months ago off Craigslist. It was cheap! I've got more grins per dollar than almost anything else I've owned. The 20 " of snow last week was worth almosr every penny!

Nice Tracker, and not rusted to hell either. Surprising.

That looks like fun JC! I took the passenger seat out yesterday to help a friend move. We fit a nightstand, a big old tv, and 6 boxes of stuff. It makes me think I could set a cot inside and lay down.

A buddy of mine decided he wanted one of these and I found exactly what he wanted on CL; soft top 2WD, manual trans with A/C. Seller was moving up to a 4WD Tacoma pickup. Dented passenger door was the only issue. He's been driving it for years now and loves it, but I had the honor of driving it to his place following his real car. I did not care for the Tracker on the interstate but it is a neat little vehicle. From my observations it seems to be the second vehicle of choice in rural Pennsylvania. They were everywhere during a trip I took there a while back.

To say they salt the roads in WV would be a gross understatement.
I'll have to spend some time under the back of my truck this spring with a wire wheel and Rustoleum, it's a 2010. I've seen the frame of an 04 Chevy truck rusted in two in the past year. My car doesn't come outside in the winter, not ever. Nor do my bikes. |
