Starting May 4, 2013, a coast to coast for tiddlers
A no holds barred, balls to the wall run from NY to LA. The ride is billed as the "Real Cannonball" and will be for modern bikes up to 250cc and vintage up to 360cc (30 years old and older). There are four motorcycle classes. We will begin and end at the points picked by Brock Yates and Dan Gurney for their epic event of the 1970's to protest the national 55mph speed limit of that era, the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan and the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach. There are also scooter classes. Go to sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/trctd for all the info. See ya in NY!

Is there a single point of information on this that I've just not found? I went to the yahoo group but struggled navigating thru it. And it seemed there was some conflict between scooters and bikes or was that just my imagination?

Scooters VS tiddlers
There's no problem between the scooters and the bikes. While there will be both running this event, they will not be competing against one another. Scooters are unlimited in size where the tiddlers are limited to 250cc's modern bikes and 360cc's vintage bikes (30+ years old.). The scooter race will be run by the Motor Scooter International Land Speed federation while the tiddlers will be run by the The Real Cannonball Tiddler Division. If you go to the files section of the yahoo website you'll see the rules, entry form, who's running and on what. Hope that clears it up for you.

Thanks for the reply (and sorry for the slow response).
I've checked the websites listed. And not that I'm considering this or anything but it looks like it would be 5ish days. Has anyone put a tentative "ideal" route together that keeps off the interstates? Shouldn't be a problem for the 250 Ninjas or the CBR but the smaller bikes would need it..

Stupid work...I am a teacher and can't take off, this would be a fun ride to do on my little 225 Yamaha. Big tank, aux. tank and go.
