I wrestled with making changes to the Hunter Mtn. ride while here at work but not sure if things are "taking". Riders reduced by two (BigTodd and McKay) in the count but names still showing twice. Will check again this evening when I get home if not before. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but not sure what.

This happed before as well and I see bigtodd listed twice in this ride too. Maybe I wasn't patient enough but I think I took up two spots when all I need is one.
Anyway to fix this so another rider can use my unused spot?

The same thing happened to me when I signed up on the Thursday ride. Spank is making fun of me. I tried to join and it didnt show up so I tried twice more. Now today I am on the list 3 times. I tried to delete the other two entries but no luck. I thought it was my computer but I guess not.

On a side not. I ride a lot of highway on my F800GS as a commuter. I will be putting knobbies on for this event and then removing them right after. Without starting the dreaded tire debate, any suggestions for an inexpesive knobby that will get me through this?
mostly you only need a front knobby...

Go with a Dunlop 606 on the front and any dual sport tire on the back

Does the F8 take a 90/90-21 front?

+1
Other good choices:
Pirelli Scorpion Rally - excellent, good price
Michelin T63 - really good dualsport tire, great price
Conti TKC80 - a perenial favorite, spendy
Pirelli MT21 - kind of old-tech but very popular
Kenda Trackmaster - not so good on-road, but great off
Metzeler Karoo2 - good on but not great off

There are probably more but these are the common and popular ones.

I am experimenting with an IRC 8 on my Terra for this ride. It's knobbier than a TKC but has more rubber to the road than the D606. Since it's a 3.00 x 21 it is very slightly narrower than a 90/90, but it "appears" to be a decent compromise. I sure would like to find a good streetable DOT front knobbie in 80/110 size, but nothing like that seems to exist.

New Ride on Sign-up Site

I just put a ride up to go to the Olancha Dunes on Thursday afternoon. Pretty easy, blast over to the dunes on the highway and screw around for a bit, then come back through Darwin with a stop at China Spring. Big bike friendly if you have a little dirt experience. Probably about 120 on roads and dirt (not counting dune riding.) Gas in Olancha so if you have a little tank, no big deal....it is only about 40 miles to the dunes. The dunes are a lot of fun and provide a lot of photo opportunities....especially for, or because of, the big bikes

Ratchdaddy has found a tire... so I put this out there for another nOOb.

A bit less than 1/2 worn out 606 front tire 90/90-21 free to a nOOb wanting to get dirty for the first time on a budget.

Added bonus (maybe), you can bring your bike over and I'll help with the tire change/learn how to fix a flat. (You supply the beer).

I cancelled out of big bike ride on saturday.

I am riding in on 950, but my friend will trailer my 450 for riding around DV.

I am planning to ride wednesday evening to lake Isabella (motel there) from Berkeley on 950 .leaving around 4pm from Berkeley. Route depends on weather.

Then thursday morning go to Panamint via Canebreak and 9 mile canyon . Then go to Titus and back to campsite.

Ratchdaddy, I am the ride leader on the Thursday ride. I removed 2 of your 3 entries so you are good to go now
