Albie, my nephew Greg and I spent a few days over near Cotter on the White River. The water was down the whole time, and the weather and fishing were super. We ate pretty well (venison stew, brisket, ribeyes, leg o lamb, burgers and brats).

Mike, I only use gold bladed rooster tails. Any color is fine, as long as it is yellow or black! The one in the picture is a "yellow coach dog", my favorite. The black glitter one also worked very well.

Great scenery, and we had the river to ourselves, for the most part.

We found Spike here at Shipps Ferry

We got many browns and rainbows. None of any size (21.5" brown was the largest), but they were all fun.

That looks like a lot of fun... and I NEED "very, very easy fishing". Curious: Do you know if there any outfitters up that way that rent the whole smear (waders, rod/reel/etc) to a "Trout Fisherman For The Weekend" kind'a guy?

While the wife and I were in Crested Butte this past Sept., and thinking in terms of our "next Colorado vacation", we priced a guided day of trout fishing w/all needed supplies. Was going to be about $500 for a day, as I recall.

However, trout fishing north Arkansas in the off-season could be as much fun!

Headed to Crested Butte week from Sat for our annual ski trip! Love that place.

We always do the guided boat fishing on the White River. I can get you the name of the outfit we use. I think all day for two people was around $280 all inclusive including lunch.

Doc seems offline. I'm sure he'll want them to replace those duct taped wonders. They should be his size!
