DL1000 Touratech Radiator Guard Question

did anyone who has fitted one of these find that the lower left guard mount that sandwiches between the radiator and the head increased the overall width too much for the factory bolt to catch any threads when reattaching? if i remove the bushing from the rubber isolator i have no problem engaging the bolt (obviously), so i am thinking about shaving the bushing down a mm or two but being that it's touratech, i would hope there's a more logical solution.
