Honda Forza 300

Even it did come here. It sucks how modified US model Honda's come in terms of lights. They do little to change the lighting. They simply slap on protruding ambers and leave the original sockets bare.

I imagine this is more due to regulations but it seems like they could do something more cosmetically pleasing.

For us old guys a big plus on a scooter is the step-through. I wouldn't want it higher than my Majesty. The Forza looks quite a bit higher.

From the spec sheet it is down 20cc's but I am sure the Honda wizards have it making as much or slightly more power than the Kymco. It is quite a bit heavier though and unless it puts out lots more power, will probably be slower.

I love Honda products, and they are bullet proof. But I also love my Downtown 300. I paid the dealer $4600 for the bike plus tax title and $0 prep. It is quicker than most people think and has returned a steady 75 mpg per tank and I have the throttle pinned every time I accelerate just for giggles.

The seat could be a little better, maybe improve the shocks a little and the dashboard is on the boring side, but it looks great and is an awesome reliable machine.

The Honda looks nice but would not make me trade the Kymco. And as a second scooter in the garage, the new Piaggio 300 Maxi looks better to me and adds some nice features like traction control.

I've found 194kg dry (428lbs) on one site.

The Downtown is rated anywhere from 29.5hp (Europe)
to 32hp (Taiwanese version) at 8000 revs and is around 395lbs.

That's 21% more power and 7-8% less weight.

The Kymco People 300 is even more interesting in this comparo with
the same engine as the Downtown but at 28hp, but it's only 363lbs dry.

The stock People 300 will run away from the DT300 from 0-60mph
(stock takes 10 seconds with my fat ass on board (200lbs+), and DT300
took around 11 before mods).

Even with 33,3hp the Piaggio BV350 isn't any faster to 60mph.

Yeah, but I was not thinking of the BV, I like the new Piaggio X10 300. It probably will be slower than the Kymco as well, but it is a nice machine.

Cortez, The Honda Italy web site gives the dry weight of the Forza as 175.4kg and the wet weight as 194kg.
That is 24kg more (no surprise there) than my SH300i ABS but also 4.5 less BHP.

If that's wet, then it's about the same as the DT300.
DT has a 1 liter bigger fuel tank.

Really looks great, but it'll probably cost as much as the new Xciting 400 here (36hp).

who brought the Kymco comparison into this thread. You might wanna

I brought it up. And I still believe the Kymco will do every thing the Honda will do at probably a lower price...

And more importantly you can purchase a Kymco Downtown today. Not so with the Honda. And a good chance of not ever in the US.

That's what made me part way's with Honda in 2007. I really wanted a SH300 but since Honda pays little attention to the mid sized scooter market here in the states, I ended up with a Daelim. To bad because I was a Honda fan boy but now having been exposed to my Daelims KYMCO motor and drive train I would not hesitated to pull the trigger on a KYMCO when the time comes.
