Not in NJ

I have 31k, one friend has about the same, another about 15k, and another about 20k.

I can just imagine the miles they'd have if we had more off pavement riding

The guy I bought it from has 20 bikes. He thought it was gnarly, bought it, never rode it. I really appreciate the advice. Gas only is too minimum. I love modifying and accessorizing. Thanks again in advance!

new can, big sump guard, decent hand guards (HDB ones are superb), oh and decent off road tyres (i use D908 rear and MT21 front) side stand re-locator

then its good to go....

you may want to remove the EPS shit and rejet as well but not essential - i like the fact mine pops and bags on the overrun

Kickstand relocator, fatter jetting, and new exhausts. They run to lean and hot in stock trim IMO.

After that, the sky's the limit.

Lucky you! Best bike ever period....

1) do the minimum (what others have said)
Side stand relocator
Side stand cut off switch by pass (saves embarrassing moments!)
Decent Handguards
Decent Tyres
Give it a good service as those oils could be a little shot standing for that long
Set up / experiment with suspension to your liking

2) do no harm
Decent end cans if it don't have them
Remove the EPC and SAS
Better Sump Guard (depends on terrain, sand dont bother)
Carbon protectors on clutch and ignition (doesnt the erzberg have these as standard (?))
Carbon covers on tank lowers
Oberon Clutch Slave
Dr Beans fuel pump points replacement
Rox Risers (if needed)
Tail Tidy
Steering Damper (loving the RalleMoto one!)

3) Dream Stuff
Plush Suspension set up
Rekluse Clutch
Raid Designs Rally kit (if you like that kind of thing)
F2R Road book
ICO or RNS tacho

Last but not least, picture please

wilso122--thanks for the great reply. I'm adding to my plan. I, fortunately, don't really have a budget. I really want to do it right. I don't know how to post a pic.

These guys in Germany make really, really nice kit. probably a gorup buy for you over there. Ive got the ignition and clutch just caving for tank covers, fit and quality is excellent.

No worries its taken a quite a few months to sort mine and I've not stopped, had a massive ebay session getting rid of stuff collected over the years that I just didn't need... Not regretted a penny put into the bike

Two quick questions:
1) The manual says the rear shock recommended preload is 8MM. Are they talking about the no load sag or as I suspect the spring length compression on the shock itself?

2) The manual says recommended fork preload adjustment is 5. I suspect they are talking about turns? There doesn't seem to be any clicks or detents as you turn it. I am talking about the adjustment on top of the forks for spring preload not the screw adjustment for the dampening.

Thanks!

hi guys

for my SE ,do you think it's possible to mount rear tires in size 130/90-18 (in place of 140/80-18)

(in this dimension tire are much cheaper, in France Michelin desert or Dunlop D908 140/80-18 is 140 and in 130/90-18 is 80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, nearly the price of front tires)

Thanks

Possible yes but the tires in that size are not made to hold up to 100 hp. Find tires when on sale and buy more than one is the best way to save money. These bikes like eating tires.

J have used 130/90-18 (Motoz Tractionator Desert) and also 120/90-18 (Dunlop 752?) on the rear on my SE with no problems. Motoz lasted 6000km and Dunlop has 2000km (still 50% left). 140/80-18 Karoo 2 was slick after 2000km. Size doesn't (always) matter

I know this is a "quick" question thread but Tapatalk search isnt great, are there any good threads about 950's that suddenly lost power?

My SE and I finished about 110 miles and suddenly lost power. Didn't die but I "think" may have quit on a cylinder. .. but I haven't gotten that far in diagnosing. I changed water pump seal about 1200 miles ago but saw some white in sight glass so immediately assumed I messed up the seal and water contaminated oil clogged oil filer... but drained every thing and oil looked good and all screens were clear. And filter didn't look real wavy and oil was fairly translucent. There were no noises when it started and though the day had some 70-80mph spurts I was tooling along in a neighborhood when this happened.

Ill start a new thread to expand this discussion. Thx

Fuel pump? Bad gas, electrical short on the left hand side of the steering head, key switch contacts corroded. Could be alot of things at 110 miles your tank is getting empty. Need more info.
