Anyone know if the car got out the river or got washed away.

Good footage on France 2 of the river crossing fiasco,

Wow!!! That's the kind of Rider to Rider assistance I like to see in the Dakar.

Swapping engines doesn't even come close, well unless 114 roosts the tow guy as soon as he's clear of the mud....

If it was me I would rebuild the top end on that one and go for it, top end is no penalty 2nd engine is 45min, don't think he can make that up

According to CDP himself he felt that the engine would be able to take the rest of the race. I'm guessing that's based upon inspections as well as talking to Dabrowski.

True, top end work is free (penalty wise). However there've been doubts raised regarding the transmissions ability to cope with the added performance of a reworked top end. This is due to the fact that the transmission in Dabrowskis engine might not contain the extra durable parts that one would assume that pure factory riders have in theirs. These thoughts were raised by Neduro a couple of pages back.

I don't know if anyone has been able to confirm 100% if Dabrowskis engine is "top of the line" or a smidge below. The case covers have his name CNC:ed on them and that might indicate something, unclear what though.

Swap a motor with another racer= 15 min penalty. Miss a way point= 3 hour and 20 min. penalty. It's all in the spirit of the Dakar right.... Good job Casseli, keep going strong.

Castera said there were 2 cars still out there, and that the FIM guys were still looking in to the book rule 1P.4.XX.Y.55, to solve the rivergate.

Really like the Casteau interview. He was really happy. Described the feeling when he knew for sure that he was on the right track, and all the other were lost and behind him.

At Beez' annual Dakar party, so I don't have time to catch up on all the posts here. But, I just had a nice 20min conversation with Lyndon, and I figured you guys might be interested in hearing it. Yeah?

Lyndon. Top 10. Interview.

'Nuff said.

Didn't Despres say that engine was built by his mechanic = same as what he's been running.
